I've used SmartPLS before and recently bought the license as a PhD student. I'm using a Mac and SmartPLS. I'm importing data from Excel and into a CSV file.
When I import the file SmartPLS keeps adding ".txt" as a format at the end of the file name and I get error messages.
"Line 16: Line contains 300 instead of 206 columns...."
I've never had this problem before and checked the file several times for possible issues. Does anyone know what is going on?
This is for a time sensitive issue and the reason why I bought the license.

If you are using SmartPLS 3 on the Mac operating system, I may not know the cause. But, I if the windows operating system, the cause is generated from the serial number on the data set.

Thank you for the reply. I went through the data set again (the fourth time) and found an error (-9994 instead of -9999) that had been coded in for a missing value by another researcher on my team. Once that was fixed the data loaded just fine.
