Type II Second-Order: convergent validity (redundancy analysis)

Hi everyone,
In my research, I have a higher-order construct. I've read that second-order constructs usually are multidimensional, and that redundancy analysis is not suitable for second-order constructs. Moreover, I didn't include any global item to assess the higher-order construct in the questionnaire.
How can I assess the convergent validity of the higher-order construct?
Does anyone know of a paper that explains why redundancy analysis is not suitable for second-order constructs? I would appreciate it if you could share such a paper that I can read and cite in my work.
Thank you so much for your help.
Kind regards,
Fábio Ribeiro
