Need some help with higher order literature

Hello everyone,

In the research we are conducting, several higher-order constructs were applied, but in one of them, we had to choose to abandon some dimensions as the construct did not converge in our study sector.

I read somewhere that sometimes it is not necessary to use such complex constructs to analyze a particular concept. I now need to access that information, but I am not able to find it. Does anyone know of any papers that has worked on this topic? 7

I appreciate your help in advance. I wish you all a great weekend.

Best regards,
Fabio Ribeiro

In Becker et al. (2023) we have a section on higher-order constructs where we summarize the latest advice on this topic.
In addition, Sarstedt et al. (2019) is also a quite good an comprehensive source on this topic.

Becker, J.-M., Cheah, J.-H., Gholamzade, R., Ringle, C.M. and Sarstedt, M. (2023), "PLS-SEM’s most wanted guidance", International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Vol. 35 No. 1, pp. 321-346. https://doi.org/10.1108/IJCHM-04-2022-0474
Sarstedt, M., Hair, J. F., Cheah, J.-H., Becker, J.-M., & Ringle, C. M. (2019). How to Specify, Estimate, and Validate Higher-Order Constructs in PLS-SEM. Australasian Marketing Journal, 27(3), 197–211. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ausmj.2019.05.003
