Equal outer weights

Post by MSTA »

Hello all.

Please let me know, what setting should I provide in SmartPLS to receive model with equal outer loadings for each formative indicator. (I would like to receive such output as I do not have any support literature for different outer weights).

Thank you.

You can double-click on a construct and then select "sum scores". This will give you equal weights. However, this does not necessarily give equal outer loadings. Such a procedure does not exists, because the indicator loadings with the final composite will depend on the amount of cross-correlations between the indicators.

Dear Dr Becker - thank you very much for the answer. I really appreciate it. Of course I meant equal outer weights (the topic is correct, but in the question I made a mistake by writing outer loadings). Nevertheless your answer is very helpful. Kind regards
