Higher order constructs validation

Post by isahdut@yahoo.com »

Hi everyone,
1) I would like to know if estimation of a higher order construct is a prerequisite to conducting the pls-sem analysis.
2)Also can one establish or validate a higher order construct based only literature review only?
3) Since higher order constructs and its lower order constructs are primarily obtained from literature what is the higher order test actually for? Does it confirm what is seen in literature or determine what is wrong or right with literature?
4) Will my analysis be wrong if I proceed with the other aspects of pls-sem analysis as prescribed by Hair et al 2014 text book without doing Higher order construct test?

Please review this latest open-access article published in the Journal of Retailing where we have developed a measurement model (scale) for the hierarchical latent variable named OCX (omnichannel customer experience): https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jretai.2022.03.003. Table 1 in the article offers an extensive step by step guideline for scale development. Also, review the web appendix for details. This article has been included in the SmartPLS recommended reading list https://www.smartpls.com/documentation/ ... -readings/
