IPMA and non-significant paths

Post by MrZulu »

I have 5 variables:Y1, Y2, Y3, Y4 and Y5 (1x DV and 4x IVs). Y1 is the only exogenous variable and Y5 is the DV. The paths are Y1-2, Y1-3, Y1-4, Y1-5, Y2-5,Y3-5 and Y4-5. If after running the Bootstrapping calculation I find that Y1-5 is non significant do I ignore Y1's results in the IPMA matrix when reviewing the the DV(Y5), bearing in mind it is also mediated through Y2, Y3 and Y4?
