A problem related to my research study

I want to ask a question that the path coefficient results were significant between two variable but when i applied Pearson correlation a contradiction in the results appeared. what is the reason of this contradiction. Is it possible that a correlation between two variables is insignificant using spss but significant results of path coefficients indicated through Smart pls
