AE Requesting move to covariance-based SEM

Submitted a paper and the AE likes it, but the AE wants us to move to covariance-based SEM.
I have looked at a couple of rebuttals, but there appears to be a strong movement in many journals to move away from PLS.
I have several papers where I have used covariance-based SEM, so migrating is not a large problem.
SmartPLS 3 is a great modeling tool, and the way it handles groups is outstanding. I would like to keep using it.
Any ideas, recent citations, or whatever.
