Hi everybody,
I have just installed SmartPLS on my Computer. In the first use, I have to select a workspace. After click through I received the error message: Workspace in use, choose a different one. What does ist mean?
After browsing and selecting an new file the error message is still appearing.
Thanks for your Suggestions
Jens

Hi
Try the following:
1) Open your workspace
2) In your workspace, you find the folder ".metadata"; open this folder
3) Delete the ".lock" file in this folder
Best

Deleting .lock file didn't fix problem; file directory did
I did the suggested fix-it to get rid of the "workspace in use" problem:
1) Open your workspace
2) In your workspace, you find the folder ".metadata"; open this folder
3) Delete the ".lock" file in this folder
However, I still have the same problem. I saw another post that suggested creating a new "workspace" folder and also was not clear whether I should delete all the contents of the original "workspace" folder to create a new one, and what in general to do to fix this (since just creating a new folder did not work for me).
What DID work was a solution someone suggested for Vista. Even though I am not using Vista, getting rid of the original PLS location under Program Files and changing it to "C:/SmartPLS/workspace" fixed it. So, I recommend trying that for others with this problem!
