How to interpret Total Effects?

Post by ngsokiu »

Dear Expert,

My model contains 6 paths, total effects showed 10 values. I understand that the max no. of paths should be 10 also.

If I compare the strength of the paths, I put the 6 paths in order of sequence, how about the other 4 paths? How to interpret them?

Thank you.

Regards,
Sara

Hi,
The others are the indirect effects which can be calculated as the product of the two effects . for example
Direct path of AB=0.2
Indirect path AC*CB => 0.8*0.5=0.4
Total effect=AB+( AC*CB)= 0.2+0.4=0.6

Hi Ali,

Those I understand. Though my model contains 6 paths I wanted to test, there were actually 8 direct paths in the model and 2 indirect paths.

Thanks,
SK
