Dear All:
I installed SmartPLS on Windows Vista but got the following error:
"SmartPLS needs to store information in your home directory.
D:\ was determined as the path to the home directory, but
- this path is no absolute path"
Any one can help?
Thanks!
Tony

home directory problem
I actually have this same problem on an XP laptop. I guess the roaming profile is the problem here, but I am not able to change my home directory (not authorized). So how can this be solved? Creating a \workspace directory doesn't do the job....

I have the same problem on a Win7 x64 machine.
"smartpls needs to store information in your home directory. E:\SMPLS was determined to be the path to that directory, but - this path is no absolute path"
Any help? I need to fix this fast because I have an exam soon and SmartPLS is a big part of it :|

why don't you try the SmartPLS download with the Java JRE "embedded"?
--> see download or click on this link:
downloads/smartpls/smartpls_2.0.M3_win3 ... ng_jre.zip
Best regards,
Bido

Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately it still does not work. I tried both downloading the version with the embedded jre, and solution 2 from the provided link.
I keep getting the same error in both cases:
"smartpls needs to store information in your home directory. E:\SMPLS was determined to be the path to that directory, but - this path is no absolute path"
A friend is having the same problem as me on a clean instalation of win7 x64. He tried the same things as me and is receiving the same error.
