Cronbach's Alpha and HOC

Post by heiko »

Hello SmartPLS community,

I have an reflective HOC with two reflective LOCs, and I use the repeated indicators approach. When calculating the Cronbach's Alpha (CA) manually as suggested by Sarstedt et al. (2019) I receive a value of only 0.51. However Composite Reliability is 0,80 and AVE 0,67. The correlation between the LOC is 0,34. Should I rely on the value of CA and discard my construct despite the criticism about CA? I would really appreciate to receive your opinion.
Thank you very much.

Kind regards
Heiko
