Assigning weights to cases in the data set

Post by saab »

Hi!

Is there a way to weight data in SmartPLS, i.e. assign weights to the cases of a data set?

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

currently there is no way to assign weights this way.

What do you expect from this kind of functionality? Maybe you can specify more specific, what you want to achive ...

Kind regards

It would be helpful in many applications to be able to re-weight the data within the analysis. For instance, if using survey data that involved some over-sampling of hard to get sub-populations and which would requires case weighting in order to make inferences to the population as a whole.

Also in some applications one might like to re-weight the data to reflect their business importance rather than their proportion of the population.
