composite reliability scores

Questions about the implementation and application of the PLS-SEM method, that are not related to the usage of the SmartPLS software.

composite reliability scores

Post by viswadatta »

Some posts have indicated a score of at least 0.7 for composit reliability. But composit reliability is equivalent to rho in covariance methods, where a minimum value of 0.5 is used. Any reason why the difference?

Hi Vivek,

they are two different things:

convergent validity --> rho or AVE > 0,5
reliability --> composite reliabililty > 0,7

Best regards.

Hi Vivek,

It is better when both of them are upper then 0,7, but in the SEM context there are some critics (see references) about using Alpha to measure reliability (same weight for all indicators), then report both of them, but make sure that composite reliability is upper then 0,7.

Best regards.

Bido

Hi Ruchi,
For check unidimensionality block => check item reliability.
Hi Yusron,
Alpha PLS under estimate, used CR > 0.7.

Hengky
