Model with each variable measured by only one measure item

We have established a structural modeling with each variable measured by only one measure item. We would like to know whether or not the model We constructed have some problem in running SmartPLS. Let us know whether We do not need to conduct the reliability and validity tests in this case. In addition, please give us advice on what is different from the typical PLS model in our model.

Hi,

With just one indicator for LV we haven’t a “latent variable”, in this case, it is supposed that the variables were measure without error, because it is not possible to assess the convergent and discriminant validity and the reliability.

This kind of model is known as “path modeling with observed variables” or “path analysis”.

Even in this case, you could assess the content validity and the criterion (or nomological) validity.

Best regards,

Bido
