Dear Forum,
I have
- 2 missing values for a nominal dummy-coded variable (0/1) (moderator analysis)
- 7 missing values for a categorial variable (age groups 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) (control variable)
- 6 missing values for a categorial variable (hierarchy groups 1, 2, 3, 4) (control variable)
I have marked these values with -99.
I did not use the method of replacing the average because of the scales´ level although the rule of < 5% applied.
How should I deal with the missing values? Or can I just leave it like it is and run the analysis?
Thank you very much in advance.
Best regards,
Boddien

Re: Missing values (dummy variables / categorial variables)
Using mean replacement does not make sense for categorical variables that are dummy coded. You may use pairwise or casewise deletion.
