total effect and its significance

Hello everyone,

I have a problem regarding how to interpret the total effect calculated by the smartpls. Could you please help me?

In the results, I found that variable A has a significant influence on variable B, but variable B has an insignificant influence on variable C. Also, variable A has an insignificant influence on variable C as well. However, the total effect from variable A on variable C is significant. I would like to know how total effects are produced and how to interpret the result.

Thank you!
