PLS & Path Analysis - Model fit & T-Values

Questions about the implementation and application of the PLS-SEM method, that are not related to the usage of the SmartPLS software.

PLS & Path Analysis - Model fit & T-Values

Post by cds »

As I am new to employing SmartPLS for PathAnalysis. I have a follow-up question on the thread here.

I have created my path model and calculated the model by applying the PLS algorithm.

As i understood so far I have to employ bootstrapping to get any t values on the e. g. path coefficients.

My settings for the bootstrap:

No sign change
121 cases (same as my sample size)
1000 samples

As a result SmartPLS tells me
"A singular matrix occured during estimation of the path coefficients using the path weighing scheme. Setting another weighing scheme could solve the problem."

First of all, I am not sure what a weighing scheme is.
However, I tried to run the Centroid and Factor weighing schme.
Now PLS reports that my sample size is to small.

Thanks for any help and advice!
