hi all,
i have read a paper in which the authors assessed convergent validity in terms of indicator reliability (significant indicator loadings >.07) and construct reliability (alpha/roh/AVE).
this leads me to two questions: 1) is it allowed to examine convergent validity by solely looking at how certain measurement items load on their latent construct without reporting cross-loadings? 2) additionally, im wondering if its proper to assess convergent validity in terms of construct reliability.. i mean.. convergent validity differs from reliability in that tests of reliability include only the scale items for a single construct and they are not being compared to other constructs.. or am i wrong?
regards,
stefan
