Hello,
First, let me say that I love Smart PLS! Thanks to those who created and maintain it.
Unfortunately, I'm having a problem opening existing files. Creating and analyzing a project is no problem. However, once the file is saved, I can't seem to reopen it. I go to the file and double-click on the splsm file. The application starts fine, after asking for the workspace. I browse to the same folder in which the splsm file is stored. The application starts, but there's nothing in the projects window. I tried importing, but the splsm files don't show up. (My windows explorer shows that the splsm files are in the folder.)
I get the feeling that I'm missing something simple.
Thanks in advance,
Craig

Hello Craig,
If you already developed a model and cannot open it anymore (as I experienced it today) this link might be helpful:
viewtopic.php?t=570
In my case everything worked again after creating a new workspace folder, within the workspace folder creating a new project folder (e.g., "project2"), copying & pasting my old (already developed) .splsm files into this folder and then in the smartPLS program creating a new project naming it like the folder ("project2"). The program recognized the old .splsm files and allowed me to open them.
In order to avoid all this it seems to be crucial to export your project (besides only saving it). SmartPLS then also saves the necessary .splsp files. See:

Hope this helps.
Cheers
Heiko
