Quadratic Effect Version 3.2

Post by donnadba »

I used the Quadratic effect to examine the effect of average dollars spent on a product to purchase intent. I'd like to see if there's a curve. The number in front of the "Quadratic Effect" circle is 0.019. The path from Avg. Dollars Spent to PI is -0.014. I'm in a quandary as to the interpretation of these results. Help would be welcome. D.

Well your function is then: y = -0.014 x + 0.019 x²
You can graph that function for the interval between -1SD and +1SD around the mean to get an impression of the curve.
However, you should assess first, if both effects are significant. It seems that they are extremly small and might not be significant. Interpreting the quadratic term if it is not significant does not make much sense.

Thank you. They actually were not significant. I appreciate your quick response. I now understand the effect better. D.
