Hello All,
I have a model in which I have 2 IVS (IV 1, IV2), 2 Mediators (M1, M2), and a dependent variable (DV). Based on what I've read so far online, it seems like Smart PLS 3.0 (unlike 2.0) automatically tests for mediating effects. And I do see total effects and indirect effects in the results; however, I'm not able to interpret these values to make sense out of them. Can someone please help me this? I want to know how to check for mediation in SmartPls 3.0.
Best,
Manjul

Re: Mediator Analysis in SmartPls 3.0
Hi
Just take a look at some articles that use the mediator analysis in PLS-SEM. For example:
Klarner, P., Sarstedt, M., Höck, M., and Ringle, C. M. 2013. "Disentangling the Effects of Team Competences, Team Adaptability, and Client Communication on the Performance of Management Consulting Teams." Long Range Planning 46 (3): 258-286.
http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/ar ... 0113000162
Or take a look at the book on PLS-SEM:
Hair, J. F., Hult, G. T. M., Ringle, C. M., and Sarstedt, M. 2014. A Primer on Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Thousand Oaks, CA: Sage.

Re: Mediator Analysis in SmartPls 3.0
hi,
i ran a mediation analysis in smartpls 3.2.1.
and following the book , to get the significance level of the indirect effects i had to find stdev for 5000 samples.
well since this process was bit tedious (owing to problems in file imports and copy pasting from here to there and i checked for 4 models), do we have any option to get this one T value value directly.
thank you.

no, pls-sem is a non-parametric approach.

Re: Mediator Analysis in SmartPls 3.0
is there something known as double mediation, is there any published paper.
e.g.
from X to Y, the pathway has two variables acting as mediators. ( considering their exists a conceptual framework, supported by theory )
X ---> A ----> B -----> Y
how should we test for such relationships ; How do we interpret such results.
please suggest
