Composite Vs. common factor

I don’t have statistical background. I read that PLS-SEM is suitable for both composite and common factors models. However, CB-SEM is suitable for only factor models. But actually I don’t know the difference between the two.
Could you please differentiate between composite and factor models? How would I know if my model is composite or common factor? I know the difference between refletive and formative constructs though.
