Usage of dummy variables as moderators

Post by m_hamidfar »

Hi,
I am testing a model in which all the constructs have been measured by likert scale 1-5. there is the moderating effect of gender which is a dummy variable with values 0 for female and 1 for male.
The question is in my indicator data file how do I put the values for gender and how should I interpret the results?

Hi,
To compare two groups we could include the group variable as a dummy in the model, but as Maruyama (1998, p.258) sad : “Capturing means differences, however, is not the same as asking about similarity processes.”
