Non-significant Outer Weights Elimination

Dear community,
I am wondering if there is any supporting research out there (articles, paper,...) for eliminating low, non-significant outer weights, even though the outer loadings are above 0.5, which would support keeping them along?
The reason why I am asking this is that for the MGA, these items become really problematic and cause problems. Having justification for eliminating them would prevent this problem. Also, outer weights are so low (on top of being non-significant) that they do not contribute much to the construct anyway.
Thank you.
Ibra
