R SQ TESTING DIRECT RELATIONSHIPS (PLEASE HELP)

Hi there,

My question is with R square.

My supervisor commented for my direct relationships :

1. ATRP --> MBI
2. MSP --> MBI

She said: It seems odd though to have the same R square for 2 paths.

I get 0.377.

But this is the way I was taught to test direct relationships.

To run PLS algorithm after drawing all the relationships and including the control variable (please refer to the diagram) and then clicking on the R square tab.

This is the results I get.

How do I get two R square values for:
1. ATRP --> MBI
2. MSP --> MBI

What am I doing wrong???

It is the usual way that you get one R² for each inner model regression. As it is common for multiple regression. It is the explained variance when considering all independent (exogenous) variables together.
You can calculate the R² contribution of each construct by omitting the construct and calculating the difference between included and excluded R². The more common statistic in this sense, however, is the f². The f² is similar, but divided by 1-R² included. Hence, it is the R² contribution relative to the unexplained variance when including the predictor.
