How to calculate LV Index Values

Post by dlassen89 »

Hello,

I want to calculate the LV index values.
I know the formula is LV = w1MV1 + w2MV2 + ... + wkMVk

I have found out that the w's are in the "measurement model".

But where do I found the MV1 and so on? :-)

Please let me know how to calculate the LV.

Than you

Best regards,

hello, How are you?

if your Latent variable is a reflective construct,
the score is:
LV=(I1+I2+I3...+In)/n

where: Ii: indicator i, and
n: number of indicators.

If you variable is a Formative construct.
You have to see the outer weights (wi) of each indicator (i),
the score is:
LV=I1*w1+I2*w2+I3*w3...+In*wn

You found the outer weights in the "Report", "outer weights".
But first you have to check the significance of each formative indicator.
the "outer weight" must have a t-value >1,96 ; and "outer loading" value>0,50.

Fine, thank you! I hope you are fine too.
Mine is a formative construct

So the weights are found in the outer wieghts - Got it!

But where do I found the I1, I2 and so on?

Hi,

In the new SmartPLS I found the weights in the IPMA analysis under 'outer weights' - rescaled. But some of my weights are negative - How do I handle this?
I'm writing my master thesis, thank you.
