Single items constructs and categorical manifest variables in Full collinearity assessment

Questions about the implementation and application of the PLS-SEM method, that are not related to the usage of the SmartPLS software.

Single items constructs and categorical manifest variables in Full collinearity assessment

Post by ElNicolosi »

Hello,

I have a questions about common method biases.

I have collected data using an online survey for latent constructs each measured on several items.

However, I have also manifest categorical variables like gender (2 levels Males/Females) and education (2 levels High/low education) and single items continuous constructs.

Should I include also those manifest variables in the empirical test for common method bias through full VIF assessment Kock (2015) by linking them to the endogenous variables or for those variables CMB assessment would not make much sense? (So no need to report their VIF in CMB assesment through kock (2015) technique?

Thank you!
