difference betewen T-statistic and T-statistic for Outer Loading

Post by jaouad »

Dear reserchers
I need to know the difference between t-statistic for path coefficient and the t-statistic for Outer Loading.
can I use the t-statistic for outer loading to evaluate the measurement model?
thank you for your helps

The t-statistic for path coefficients addresses the significance of path coefficients.
The t-statistic for outer addresses the significance of outer loadings.
Both are calculated equally, just with the path coefficients or the outer loadings as input.

The t-statistic for outer loadings might be helpful in measurement model evaluation, but only in very specific cases. Usually, your first evaluate the loadings themselves for the absolute value and via their impact in certain measurement quality criteria (AVE, composite reliability, etc.).
