discriminant validity - HTMT criterion

Post by Maren »

Hello everyone,

I’m writing my master thesis at the moment and I have trouble to assess if discriminant validity is established or not.

All criteria do confirm that discriminant validity is established, with the exception of two cases:
Looking at the HTMT values, the PLS algorithm reports values for
Satisfaction  confirmation is 0.898
Perception  confirmation is 0.904

Looking at the HTMT confidence intervals, the values are below the value of 1
Satisfaction  confirmation is 0.953
Perception  confirmation is 0.956

All other HTMT values and confidence intervals for all other constructs meet the criteria to confirm discriminant validity.
Thus, can I report that discriminant validity is established looking at those two problematic cases?

Thank you in advance for your help and answers!
Kind regards,
Maren

Given that a more recent study even suggest that the confidence interval should not include the 0.9 or 0.85 values it seems that you have discriminant validity problems.
