Reporting Variance Explained in Models

Post by rjb285 »

I have two questions in regard to variance explained in one's PLS-SEM model:

1. In the circles representative of each (endogenous) latent construct, should the R^2 OR adjusted R^2 values be displayed?

2. If adjusted R^2 values should be displayed, I'm assuming they should also be the values reported on in the body of one's results?

Thank you.

It depends on your field and expectation of reviewer of your paper/thesis.
Some research like to see normal R², some both, some only adjusted R². Best approach is usually to report both in the main body of the paper.
However, only if you have a large number of independent variables it really makes a difference. If you have only a few predictors, you could also report R²
