How to find combined effect

Post by dibakar »

Say I have three independent variables (A,B,C) and a dependent variable D.
Relationships are direct (A--->D; B---->D; C---->D). I have used PLS and got the path coefficients (eg. (A--->D path coeff x; B---->D path coeff y; C---->D path coeff z). All path coefficients are significant.
Now if I want to find out what would be the total effect of A and B on D (eg both variables belong to the same domain say organizational issues) what should be the approach. Is it as simple as (x+y) for total effect of A and B on D.
Thanks
