Do you think that bootstrapping of total effects would be an interesting feature?

Bootstrapping of Total Effects

Post by cringle »

In the structural model of path model, there are direct relationships among latent variables and - this is often the case - indirect effects. Both effects (direct and indirect) added represent the total effect of relationships between latent variables.

Yes! As they say in Chicago, I may have to vote early and vote often on this one!

Going even a step beyond total STRUCTURAL effects, there have been times when I have been interested in total effects from indicators to some ultimate dependent variable of interest (of course this is simply taking the total structural effects and multiplying them by the weights of the predictor indicators and the loadings of the dependent indicators). Reporting and bootstrapping these would be very nice as well.
