Total effects of indicators

Post by chrisrup »

Is there a function in SmartPLS to compute total effects of single indicators of a formative construct on a dependent variable in the model?

Hi
Just use the total effects and multiply them with the outer loadings.

You will find such a result in the IPMA under Total Effects.

f2, q2?

Post by iury »

Please, help me! I am very confused with f2 and q2 effects:
1. in fact, what are these measures, conceptually speaking?
2. should they (f2 and q2) be calcuate to all endogenous constructs of my model?
3. I calculate them and they are very small (sometimes so small that they are negative!), showing that a construct is not a good predictor of the endogenous construct I am evaluating. But, these results may be inconsistent with the results of t test, that are significant! Why is that?
