Renaming Latent Variables

Post by joerghenseler »

I want to rename some latent variables, but in 9 von 10 cases, it is not possible to change the name via double-click (I double-click on the LV, and nothing happens).

I have not found any other possibility of changing the name (neither in the menu nor in the context menu [right click].

What can I do?

The in-place editor for the variable names is activated by two consecutive mouse-clicks, not by a double click. The difference is simply the time span between the two clicks. So left-click the variable you want to rename, then wait 1 or 2 seconds and left-click again. The editor should appear.

In the upcoming release, there will be a shortcut for this issue as well as an action in the context menu.

After highlighting the LV (one click, left mouse button) I'd simply press the F2 button. It's nearly as comfortable as double-clicking.

Hi!
I'm trying to rename my latent variables and the problem I have is that my name goes below the oval and not inside. I cannot find an option to change this....

Hi,

there is no way to change the text position in SmartPLS (the space in the LVs is reserved for other information). Just use another software (e.g. Open Office or PowerPoint) to draw your path diagramm as you desire.

Best regards
Christian
