Apply Missing Value Algorithm

Hello,
I have a Question to "Apply Missing Value Algorithm". I do not find any information about it.
Do i have to click it in both cases (Mean Replacement and Case Wise Replacement) in SmartPLS 2 ?
What is the difference between Mean Replacement without apply missing Value Algorithm and Mean Replacement with apply missing Value Algorithm.
The same apply to Casewise Replacement.
I thought mean Replacement emerge missing values with the mean of the values of the concerned indicator. So why do i have to choose "Apply Missing Value Algorithm"?
If I choose one of them the results "with" and "without" hooklet at "Apply Missing Value Algorithm" are not equal.
Which calculation runs with "Apply Missing Value Algorithm"?
