Bootstrapping Settings: Number of Cases and Samples

Post by ssarkar3 »

Hi,
I am a new user and have started using SmartPLS very recently- hence my question might be very dumb.

In the bootstrap screen by default, the number of cases was set to 100 and samples to 200 when I installed (I think). My total sample size is 100 in which there are multiple groups. The group sizes vary from 17 to 24. Is there a thumb rule or any citation as to how to set the sample/case size when I want to run bootstrap.

Thanks and regards

Hello,

I was using the same as you Cases:100 and sample: 200 but a colleague told me to adapt it my study.

I have 5 samples of 50 and as my sample is considered as being small I fill it in as following: Cases: 50 and sample: 500. By choosing to have 500 "simulations" I get a better representation of the situation in order to compensate/counterbalance the small size of my sample.
For my Phd model I am using a SEM to measure link between the concepts I am working on.
I need to make some statistics test to validate my measurement scale.
