mediation-sobel-unstandardized coeff

Post by ruchi »

Hello

IN the article "http://davidakenny.net/cm/mediate.htm", its mention that "Sobel test can be conducted using the standardized or unstandardized coefficients. Care must be taken to use the appropriate standard errors if standardized coefficients are used" BUT

I have seen many articles mentioning that sobels test works with unstandardized coefficients and their standard errors.

If using sobels test for mediation effect, then how to calculate unstandardized path coeffcients "a" and "b" and their standard errors for finding the significance of indirect effect from smartPLS report OR can we use the standardized coeffcients and its t values which is obtained after bootstrapping under -path coefficients heading(mean, stddev,t values).

Thanks
Ruchi

Hi,

For unstandardized run PLS Algorithm select "original"
For standardized run PLS Algortihm select "mean 0 var 1"
