Loading Factor Limit for Reflective Indicator

Post by tomy »

Hi,

I believe that we are all agree to use loading factor limit <0.7, and also another reference can refer to Chin (1998) to use <0.5 if the model being developed.

Could I apply another alternative to use loading factor <0.4 ?

My reference is the words from THE USE OF PARTIAL LEAST SQUARES PATH MODELING IN INTERNATIONAL MARKETING, Jo¨rg Henseler, Christian M.Ringle and Rudolf R.Sinkovics. :
"Moreover, some psychometrists (e.g., Churchill, 1979) recommend eliminating reflective indicators from measurement models if their outer standardized loadings are smaller than 0.4........."
Best Regards,

Hi,

Outer loading 0.4-05 appropriate for development construct.
For measurement construct 0.6 for exploratory and 0.7 for confirmatory.
