Cant open for the first time? Error C:\Program Files(x86) \S

Hi I cannot get Smart PLS to open, after having downloaded it for the first time. I get the error message

An error has occured. See the log file
C:\Program Files(x86) \SmartPLS2\Configuration\1329991694250.log

How do I fix this?

I have the same exact problem. I got this error on Windows 7 and not on windows XP.

Thanx for the tip...but..it is still not working.

Sorry, but..

I have uninstalled JRE7 and downloaded JRE6 update 31, as I cannot find update 29.
Then take the jre6 folder and put it in the C:\Program Files (x86)\SmartPLS2 folder where there also is the the files: “configuration”, and “plugins” . But, when I try to open Smart PLS2 I get the error message

A java runtime environment (JRE) or Java Development Kit (JDK) must be available in order to run Smartpls. No Java virtual machine was found after searching the following locations C:\Program Files (x86)\SmartPLS2\jre\bin\jawaw.exe\´javaw.exe` in your current PATH

Question the jre6 folder, where should it be??

Question the jre6 folder, where should it be??

Try to omit (x86) so it would be C:\Program Files\SmartPLS2\jre\bin\jawaw.exe

other possible solution is to edit your smartpls.ini to match the path. For your comparison this is my smartpls.ini content that refer to jre6 actual installation folder (jre not copied to smartPLS folder)

if that doesn't work try to delete previously copied jre folder (the one inside C:\Program Files\SmartPLS2 and also delete the smartpls.ini if you have created one.

Hope you can make smartPLS works
