New Notebook - trying to transfer my "old" smartpl

Post by CRH »

Dear all,

the question as such probably gives you an idea about the state of my IT knowledge - very little knowledge indeed.

My old notebook collapsed and I bought a new one, installed all the softwares I am currently using. I am hoping to work with the models just like they were before my old notebook collapsed. Which files do I have to upload? The "workspace" is not it, isn't it? Do I have to copy "something" under SmartPLS programme files?

Thank you so much for your help.

Kind regards
Christina

Basically you should copy your saved files (PLS files) and your datasets files used.

Copy those files to your new notebook and you should be ok.

Hi Christina,
yes.

The workspace has your projects (data file saved as *.csv and models saved as *.splsm).

Just copy it to your new notebook and when you start the SmartPLS, select this workspace.

Another way was export/import the project as (*splsp).

Best regards,

Bido

I would like to know how to save the project well and open it again.

Besides, how to export the analytical results to excel file?

Hi,

It's easy to save the project file SmartPLS. When you are finished analyzing the project, the moment you want to close the program, you will be asked whether you want to save it, you only have to choose OK, then your project will be saved automatically and can be reopened.
To export analysis results into Excel, then SmartPLS 3 you should use is professional, just choose the option to export to excel at the top. If you are using a trial or a student version, this option is not available.
