validity of structurel model in SMART PLS3

Post by sondes kacem »

Hello,
Please, I have an important question about the use of the PLS approach hindering my progress in my research, is it possible to keep some items with "loading" negative when I reached the validity requested (AVE exceeding the threshold of 0.5; R² acceptable, student test higher to 1.96); I ask this because when I remove these items with "loading" negative, the structural model becomes insignificant with a test student less than 1.96)

You should first think about the reason of the negative loading. For example, if the item is reverse coded, you should switch the order of that item before using it in your model to allign the item with all the other manifest variables of the construct. That should give you better results.
