Hi!
Not sure if this is the correct place to post this question about the use of PLS and modeling sales data. Am assembling a dataset from industry and will have a dependent variable that represents monthly same store sales (year to year change). I have seen some research that models this type of data using OLS. Does this type of dependent variable cause any problems when modeling with PLS that would preclude using SmartPLS for my analysis.

Yes, it might cause a problem if it were the dependent variables. It takes a little trick to run with SmartPLS. Read the following journals:
