Control Variable on SmartPLS 3.0

Hi,

From what I understand, we have to point all control variables at all the endogenous contructs.

My model is testing only direct relationships. I have attached my path model on SmartPLS 3.0. I just have one simple question, have I set my control variables correctly in my path model?

In my model:

Exogenous contructs are
Risk perception
Safety concern

However
Destination image is both a independent and dependent variable. So if I understood PLSSEM correctly, destination image should be endogenous.

Endogenous constructs
PMT 1
PMT 2

Look forward to the guidance.

Thanks and regards,
Priyanka

Hi,

Destination image is mediating variables. Depending on where you want to control variables and it needs strong justification. Not all variables need to be controlled. And it will require a large number of samples.

Hi Sir,

Thanks for your message.

If I want to use control variables, is my method correct on SmartPLS?

Software wise.

Is this how you make a control variable, by pointing it at the endogenous construct?

Say I want to control for age for more than one construct, do I just use two arrows from age pointing at two different endogenous constructs?

Yes, you are modeling it correctly. Just have an arrow from your control variable (e.g., age) to all constructs that you want age be controlled for.
