Hi,
I have two models with suppressor effects. Direct and Indirect effects are significants on 0,1%. A indirect path is negative (p23) in each model.
VAF is -17% and -44% respectively. How should I interpret this? Both cases are full-suppressor effect? Is the suppressor-effect with VAF -44% bigger than VAF -17?
Thank you in advance for your help

Re: VAF in Suppressor-Mediating Effect
Hi,
Suppressor effects occur when there are signs that changes in the path coefficients. VAF value will usually be more than 100%. To conclude this, it may not be able to play a role mediating variables, so that a direct connection is stronger than mediation. So it concluded there is no mediation for both cases.
But if the direct and indirect effect has a negative sign, it can be concluded there is a partial mediation.
Best regards,
