Stupid question: Cronbach's Alpha too low

Post by Sweetie88 »

Heeey,

I am wondering.. if I have two constructs with a cronbach's alpha too low (one is 0,676 which is acceptable) but the other one is 0,585...
do I have to eliminate indictators to improve the values? if yes, I have just two indicators left, so eliminating one, would result in a deletion of the whole construct.

Or do I have to find a explanation why the cronbach's alpha is too low and saying for this contruct the value is below the desired target value of 0,7 and that means it is not reliable?

Thanks!

Best regards
