Moderation in SmartPLS 3
Moderation in SmartPLS 3
What happen to the moderation functionality in version 3? How do I test for moderation in SmartPLS 3?

Click right on an endogenous latent variable that should be the dependent variable in a moderated relationship. You will have there the option to add a quadratic or interation term.

Re: Moderation in SmartPLS 3
Hi,
I my study, I want to investigate whether these five IVs will be moderated by 1 continuous moderaotor towards one DV
To perform moderation, do i need to create the moderating effect for each IV one by one and do bootstrapping one by one?
Or do I need to create moderating effect to all IVs and run bootstrapping simultaneously?
Please help. Thanks

Generally, you should include all interactions simultaneously. Sometimes this causes multicollinearity problems so that some researchers test each moderator one by one. But this procedure is suboptimal and should be clearly explained in a paper so that others know what you have done.

Hi,
If using product indicators approach may be you will find multicollinearity problem because you will have 9 IVs (add interactions construct) and have highly correlated among IVs and interactions term. But I think, if using residual indicators this problem not accour. So, you can test simultaneously in one model not separately (Note: if separately may be will increase type I or II error).
Best regards,

Re: Moderation in SmartPLS 3
a simple correlation will reveal how much the interaction term may be non_orthogonal.
