f² (effect size) interpretation

Post by nadja »

Hello everyone!
I have some questions concerning the f² interpretation.
1) Following Cohen (1988), .02 represents a “small” f2 effect size, .15 represents a “medium” effect, and .35 represents a “high” effect size. What about the other values? eg. 0.103 (see in screenshot) is ervery value between 0.02 and 0.35 moderate?

2) Is this definition correct: "The f² coefficient examines how much unexplained variance compensates for the r² change"

3) Is it even beneficial interpeting the f² when previously analyzing the p-value and path coefficient?

Thanks a lot for help!
