PLS with fixed equal item weights?

Questions about the implementation and application of the PLS-SEM method, that are not related to the usage of the SmartPLS software.

PLS with fixed equal item weights?

Post by bi@nc@ »

Hi,
A reviewer of my paper is debating the use of PLS based on the article "Partial least squares path modeling: Time for some serious second thoughts" from Ronkko et al. (2016) In order to show the robustness of PLS I am considering estimating the models again with fixed equal item weights. However, I have no clue on how to do that.
Can someone provide me with some advice?
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,

There are different ways to do that, but the easiest way is the following:
Double click on each construct and choose as Indicator Weighting Mode the Sumscores.
It will show you that you use Sumscores by placing a small "S" inside the construct.

Then just run the normal PLS algorithm, bootstrapping, etc.
