Hello,
I have a DV with an AVE of .479. The composite reliability is 0.728. I do not wish to delete any of the indicators as all three are important to the model (the lowest loading is 0.526). Is there any rationale within the literature I can reference for running with a DV which is slightly below the acceptance criteria?
Many thanks in advance.
Best,
PBAUSA

You will probably have a hard time to defend a measure that has values lower than the common threshold, even if they are barely lower. I would expect reviewers will always question whether the results of the model are an artifact of the low reliability of your measure. It will probably also be hard to find literature that justifies such an approach.
Another idea would be reconsidering the reflective nature of your DV. Is it really reflective and not formative? That could solve some of your problems.

Thank you jmbecker. I appreciate your thoughts and recommendation to look at it from a formative perspective. I will do so :)
